Mad hatter Tea Party Cake/Sweet or Sandwich Stand, Alice in Wonderland, Two Tier Cake Stand, Alice looking for the Key, Handmade

Carefully selected items of new and pre-owned pottery are purchased from a variety of antique and charity shops. Every piece, new or pre-owned is cleaned thoroughly before being prepared for decoration. Each piece is decorated in a unique and bespoke manner using John Tenniel's illustrations from the original 'Alice in Wonderland' book.

This two tier cake or sandwich stand stands 24 cm (9.4 inches) tall. The vintage base plate has a diameter of 20 cm (7.9 inches) and depicts Alice looking for the key in a box made into a montage that has then been turned into a kaleidoscope picture using computer generation. The smaller plate has a diameter of 16 cm (6.3 inches) and depicts the same picture as the lower vintage plate. The metal joints that secure the two plates and the handle can be ordered in silver or gold. Please specify which colour you would like when ordering.

Each scene is created using a digital medium and then printed onto low temperature decal paper. This is applied to the clean surface of the pot before being placed in an oven to be baked onto the piece for over one hour. After the piece has cooled a medium is applied and then the piece is refired to help seal the image.

Each piece can be hand washed in soapy water using a sponge or cloth to clean. DO NOT use any abrasive materials to clean the piece or place in a dishwasher. This will seriously damage the images.
