Assemblage Art: Vintage fashion Farm Henhouse

This vintage farmhouse style assemblage celebrates the chicken! The wood shadowbox-type substrate is made from the upcycled children's toy packaging, setting the tone for a piece that is both lighthearted fun and nostalgic for farm days past. Each section of the box features a mini-vignette focused around chicken-themed ephemera, fabrics and 3-dimensional objects. A ceramic salt shaker and figurines date to the mid 20th century. Papers, fabric scraps,a button and red-work embroidery evoke the 1930's-50's. The acrylic painted finish includes glazing for an aged effect and whimsical pencil mark making and lettering. The painted finish is protected with varnish and a thin coat of soft wax. The back has a wire hanging mechanism and signed label.
