This listing features a beautiful and intricately detailed Sterling Silver Love Birds Pin.

The pin has a rich patina and the detailing is simple and exquisite. The Love Birds are beautifully depicted in Shiny and Matte Sterling Silver. The Love Birds stand side by side on a curved perch with detailed leaves on the right and left side of the bottom of the pin. The outer rim of the pin is shiny silver and the leaves have matte silver veining showing off the beauty of the leaves. The body of the birds are matte with exquisite feather detailing and their feet are shiny silver. The birds stand face to face kissing. The heads of the birds are shiny silver. The center of the pin is cut out allowing whatever color the wearer has on to show through the back of the pin. The closure is a rolling C clasp that is in perfect working condition. The pin is in very nice condition for its age which I estimate to be from the 1940s-1950s.

A maker's mark NM and the word Sterling is stamped on the back of the pin in an applied fashion cartouche. My research leads me to believe that the NM was an abbreviation that may refer to a design copyright mark for Norway. There is also a hallmark on the pin but it is faded and I have not been able to decipher it. The approximate measurement of the pin from left to right at the base is 1 3/8". The approximate measurement from left to right in the middle of the pin is 1 3/4". The approximate measurement of the pin from top to bottom is 1 1/2".
