This hundred year old gravy boat and saucer has chrysanthemum flowers as a central motif. The flowers are fashion a combination of pastel shades of pale gray, pink, yellow and white. The wide outer border of is a gold moire pattern encased within a gold band and gold trim. The green mark is the wreath and star and "R.S. Germany". This piece has no cracks, chips or repairs.
"RS" are the initials for Reinhold Schlegelmilch, the private owner of a porcelain factory in Suhl, Germany that was founded in the late 19th century when demand for European porcelain from abroad was nearing its peak. The majority of their products for export began in 1892 and continued until the beginning of World War I.
